Dermal Filler Dissolving
What is Dermal Filler Dissolving
Excellently placed filler will rejuvenate, enhance and contour your features, the opposite is true for poorly placed filler, poor quality fillers, migrated filler, filler work that doesn't take into account your overall facial aesthetic, lumps, bumps....

We offer safe and effective dermal filler dissolving and emergency reversal at our clinics.
Treatment Procedure
After a full consultation and facial assessment, we conduct an allergy test to ensure you are suitable for treatment. This is done by injecting a small mount of saline alongside a small amount of hyalase solution into the skin of the forearm and wiring 30 minutes. So long as the allergy test is negative we can continue. We would then numb the area to be treated using topical solution and proceed to inject hyalase (aka hyaluronidase) into the filler we want to remove. The area is massaged and cleaned before you leave.
What Dissolving Treatments Do You Offer?
We offer dissolving of all facial filler work so long as it is safe to do so.
How Does it Work?
Dermal filler is made from hyaluronic acid. Hyalase also known as Hyaluronidase is a soluble protein enzyme that acts as a dispersion agent, breaking down the bonds that hold the hyaluronic acid together through a process called hydrolysis. It’s a naturally-occurring enzyme that is purified to dissolve dermal fillers. Hyaluronidase has immediate effect and a half-life of two minutes with duration of action of 24 to 48 hours. Once we start the process of injecting the hyaluronidase, the dermal filler in that area starts to break down and soften immediately. Clients are often nervous that the procedure is painful, we can assure you that this is not the case, (saline dissolving however is and this is why people are often nervous to dissolve fillers) we also use very fine needles & great numbing creams to ensure you're completely comfortable.
Aftercare
You will be fully briefed on aftercare at your appointment, it's important that you follow this advice to get the best results from your treatment. You are likely to swell in the are dissolved for 24 hours post treatment. This swelling is often resolved in less than 24 hours but it is important that you plan your treatment for the worst case scenario. You will be advised to massage the area and shown how to do so in order to accelerate the dissolving process. You must avoid alcohol prior to and post treatment & direct heat/saunas for 24 hours after treatment. subsequent filler work can be booked from 2 weeks after your dissolving treatment.
Who Can't Have Dermal Filler Dissolving?
You cannot have dermal filler dissolving treatment if you; are pregnant or breastfeeding, under 18 years of age, have a history of anaphylactic shock, have had laser treatment or chemical skin peels in the 6 weeks prior, have implants close to the region to be injected, have a local infection at or close to the injection site or are in the active phase of a cold sore. You of course cannot proceed with treatment if you have an allergic reaction to the patch test.
