What Is A Threadlift?

Non-surgical thread lift treatment focuses on reducing or eliminating the signs of ageing using PDO|COG (absorbable suture) thread placements. COG threads are pulled to attain the effect of a facelift by repositioning the skin tissues, tightening the skin, defining features, lifting and restoring the youthful glow to the skin.  PDO threads are smaller threads that are inserted into the skin and left in place to stimulate collagen in areas where less ‘pull’ is needed but instead the goal is to ‘plump’, tighten and rejuvenate.

Treatment Procedure

After a full consultation and we first mark your skin to establish a direction for the threads that will be inserted. Afterwards, the points of insertion will be thoroughly anesthetised.  The PDO threads are attached to a cannula or needle that is inserted into your skin and pushed through the tissues underneath. Once the thread reaches its end point, it will be released and the cannula will be removed from the skin. The practitioner might repeat the process multiple times to achieve the right lift, which means anywhere from one to fifteen threads might be inserted to address the concern.Lastly, the threads will be smoothened with a gentle massage to prevent any dimpling.

What PDO|COG Lift Procedures Do You Offer?

We offer a full range of facial and body threadlift treatments at our West Midlands clinics. Threads can be used to treat; part or all of the face, the neck, arms, décolletage, stomach, calves, bingo wings & breasts. Threadlifts are suitable for male and female clients wanting to lift, tighten and smooth their skin.

How Does It Work?

The threads, once inserted, produce three effects:

·  Immediate skin lifting.

·  Cellular renewal as the collagen production enhances the texture and elasticity of the skin, removing fine lines.

·  Skin tightening as the fat tissues are contracted due to the threads.

The threads are dissolved. Due to cellular rejuvenation and collagen stimulation the lifting effects are seen immediatey but the full result isn’t considered complete until 6-8 weeks after the treatment. The threads contract the fat in the skin and enhance the production of new blood vessels and collagen to promote microcirculation.

Aftercare

You will be fully briefed on aftercare at your appointment, it's important that you follow this advice to get the best results from your treatment.  The minimal downtime and instant results are the biggest advantages of this treatment.  You can expect the area treated to feel tight and slightly tender for a few days following treatment.  There may be  some slight bruising and tenderness but this is usually minimal.  We ask you to avoid alcohol and where possible blood thinning medication for 48 hours pre and post treatment to help recovery.  Anti inflammatories shouldn't be taken as they impede the production of collagen.

The results of this treatment last for 18-24 months, we recommend a top up treatment around this time as you continue to age over time.  Results are most long lasting when you take care of your skin in between treatments through good nutrition, skincare, SPF and regular skin boosting treatments such as Profhilo.

Who Can't Have Threadlift Treatment?

You cannot have a thread lift treatment with us if you; are pregnant or breastfeeding, under 18 years of age, have a history of anaphylactic shock, have had laser treatment or chemical skin peels in the 6 weeks prior, have implants close to the region to be injected, have a local infection at or close to the injection site or are in the active phase of a cold sore.  Some medical conditions are also a contraindication hence why we fully consult you beforehand.
